The Challenge
The goal of this design project was to design a Apple CarPlay compatible app for The Toronto Parking Authority (Green P). The Green P app should function as follows: (1) allow users to find Green P parking locations in Toronto using a native GPS. (2) allow users to input their destination and search surrounding Green P parking locations. (3) allow users to pay within the Green P app. (4) the UI design of the Green P app should be consistent with CarPlay UI.
The Design
Based on the results from user feedback on the initial sketches and story boards. Our team made the appropriate changes to better meet user needs and designed a low fidelity wire frame that consisted of main features.
Users were asked to test teach feature of the low fidelity wire frame and performed various tasks. Based on the results of these usability tests, a high fidelity prototype was created--consisting of complete graphics, functional features, and responsive UI.
Similar to usability testing on the low fidelity prototypes, users were tasked with performing a variety of tasks that fully enabled them to test key features.
